Fables and Fascinating Facts

Abundance Arts provide interactive storytelling workshops, in schools, museums, theatres, libraries and community venues. Abundance Arts present ancient, traditional African tales with present-day relevance and contemporary twists. There are cautionary tales, African creation myths and numerous adventures of Ananse the spider from Ghana and other fantastic fascinating characters.

Storytelling workshops incorporate African drums, percussion, songs and movement. In school setting we perform at whole school assemblies or for smaller class groups.

The audience take part in songs, chants, riddle-solving and movement, carrying the energetic story along with the storytellers.

Abundance Arts is available for bookings throughout the year, also for special events including family days at nursary and Black History Month, Book Week and Diversity Days at for primary schools . Storytelling workshops can be booked as residencies and provide opportunities for Key Stage 2 and older children to showcase what they learned to parents and the rest of the school.

The programme is gauged to the participants' age requirements. Confidence, listening, focus, speech and language skills are enhanced for younger children.
